Bicycle Accident

Plaintiff was an avid bicyclist riding in the bike lane when he was struck by defendant who was making a left turn to enter a private driveway. Plaintiff suffered multiple orthopedic injuries. After our early investigation, we learned that at the time of the accident, the defendant was driving for his employer during the course and scope of his employment. We were able to immediately canvas the scene and speak with witnesses. Initially, the Defendant driver and his employer denied any wrongdoing and contended that Plaintiff was at fault for the accident. After extensive written discovery, multiple depositions and hiring an expert who opined that the defendant was negligent and the sole cause of the accident, the case resolved for $1,625,000.00.
